Over the years League of Legends has had its share of bugs and exploits, but a new one stops the enemy from being able to buy items.

League of Legends finds itself with an exploit problem, the likes of which we have seen in a few games before. Back in the days of Defense of the Ancients (DotA), it was possible to destroy the enemy fountain.

This hilarious interaction meant that the enemy could no longer heal, which really just added insult to injury when you were killing them on spawn anyway. This was echoed by the Primal Beast and IO “feature” of relocating the Tormentor into the enemy fountain, which destroyed the fountain.

Now League of Legends finds itself with a similar issue, as the shopkeeper can be killed with a new exploit highlighted by Vandiril.

League of Legends: the shopkeeper's demise

According to the video above, posted by everyone’s favorite LoL bug and exploit sleuth, Vandiril, a new exploit can allow players to destroy their enemy’s shopkeeper. What this does is stop the enemy from purchasing items – unless they die, in which case it can be done. However, simply returning to base will leave you with no shopkeeper and a lot of gold in your pockets until you perish in battle.

As with any exploit, it would probably be best to not try to recreate it, but even more so with this one, as it requires the use of an external scripting tool. This, more than likely, means that you will be permanently banned for using the exploit or anything similar.

While the video is fairly new, Vandiril explains that the person involved has not been in a game since they did this. However, this could also mean that they created an account specifically for things like this.

Entertaining and amusing exploits and bugs are abundant in games, and there are often those who go out of their way to find and highlight them. In its lifespan, we have seen some hilarious ones in LoL – but few have been this interesting. Hopefully, Riot Games will quickly address this, before players attempt to utilize it in ranked.
