The Sims 4 vs inZOI: What are the major differences?

Many people are calling inZOI the competition that The Sims 4 has never faced before. Some believe it could end The Sims 4's reign. Developed by inZOI Studio and published by Krafton, the new game is set to be released on March 28. But what exactly distinguishes it from The Sims 4?

Unlike The Sims, where most DLC and updates come at a cost, inZOI prioritizes "players over profits," as it was presented by Hyungjun "Kjun" Kim, the game's director. According to him, all downloadable content and general updates will be free during the early access period, ensuring that when you purchase the game, you can enjoy a free experience.

While The Sims 4 mods have added some realism to the game, they don't appear as realistic as the models of inZOI. This difference can be attributed to the fact that The Sims is a decade-old game, and the technology used for development has evolved significantly since then.

You can take a picture of yourself, and the game will create your Zoi character based on your appearance. Additionally, the customization options for your house are unprecedented. You can request the AI to add specific textures to items like sofas, and it will do so.

The game is designed to avoid copyright issues, allowing you to ask the AI to include a variety of elements without concern. KRAFTON promises that all designs are public domain and they have the artists’ consent. The AI offers more flexibility in decoration, whereas The Sims often relies on additional mods or purchases for similar customization options. In inZOI, all customization is built-in and readily available, according to the developers.

The Sims attempted to address the challenges of stability and isolation in city life with The Sims 3, but it wasn't fully realized. inZOI aims to revolutionize this by offering an open world where you can truly customize your cities. In The Sims, players must manually guide their Sims to interact with others. However, in inZOI, the experience is quite different. You can explore a vast city either on foot or by vehicle, all without any loading screens or separate environments. Things like billboards or simple trees can be customized as well as external things like the weather or the hour.
