Honkai Star Rail version 3.8 will have an extended duration longer than other usual update cycles. Here’s why.
Honkai Star Rail version 3.8 is now live and will remain available for an extended duration, longer than the game's previous versions. Here's what HoYoverse has to say about the extension, which also causes the delay of version 4.0.
Honkai Star Rail 3.8's extended duration
First, the important stuff: compensation.
HoYoverse is giving all players 1,000 Stellar Jade and 10 Fuel to apologize for the "poor experience and inconvenience" due to the extension.
They also gave a short and vague answer as the reason: "Currently, the Express Crew is constantly working on Version 4.0's game content. As such, we have extended the duration of Version 3.8, in hopes to give Trailblazers a better experience in the next world, 'Planarcadia,'" they wrote through a blog post.
As another means of quelling the dismay that the extension may cause, they gave us a sneak peek at this new world.
This gallery shows us that the Elation has a lot of influence over Planarcadia. It also came with a short snippet teasing the lore.
"The threat of Destruction compelled the cosmos to unite once again, and everyone now looks toward other Aeons involved. The Express once crashed into and departed from 'Planarcadia.' There, Aha graced the pursuers of Elation with a reward: join THEIR game and become an 'Aeon' for a minute."
What happens to events and banners in 3.8?
Honkai Star Rail 3.8 will have three banner phases. The first one features The Dahlia and Firefly, while the second has Fugue and Lingsha. Both of these will run for the usual three-week cycle. The remaining two weeks of the patch will have Aglaea and Sunday and will end with the version.
As outlined in this blog post, several version events will remain active alongside the extended duration of the update. This includes the version-wide events, log-in bonuses, and more.
There will also be three double reward events during this version. Planar Fissure, Realm of the Strange, and Garden of Plenty will all take place during this update.
The timing for Currency Wars: Zero Sum Game's reset will be adjusted. Points for Currency Wars, Simulated Universe, and Divergent Universe will continue, though.
