MegaAlexJP put the lobby under the check format in just three games.

After a weekend of Hearthstone Battlegrounds action, player MegaAlexJP came out on top as the Lobby Legends Spring Championship winner!

MegaAlexJP goes "777" for the gold

Between May 27 and 29, the top 16 players duked it out against each other in the Hearthstone Battlegrounds Lobby Legends Spring Championship. The first Lobby Legends tournament of the year was also split into two lobbies with three matches per lobby.

After the first day of games, the top eight players aimed to put the final lobby under the check format. This involved earning a minimum of 20 points and securing a first-place finish in order to win it all. MegaAlexJP put the lobby under the check format in just three games! He secured scores of three sevens to reach 21 points.

MegaAlex wins Lobby Legends Spring Championship 2023

When MegaAlexJP took the crown, he expressed feeling super happy about the result. He also recalled being nervous in the fourth lobby since he ended that game in seventh place. However, he said that choosing Silas Darkmoon as his hero in the fifth lobby was the path to victory.

"Fifth lobby — Silas is [a] good hero, so I [expected] to win," MegaAlexJP said. He then mentioned that next time, he'll be back on the Hearthstone Battlegrounds stage with an evolution of his name.

"Next time, I will be GigaAlex," he said.

With this victory, MegaAlexJP took home the lion's share of the $50,000 prize pool.
