Hearthstone esports at the Hangzhou Asian Games

The ninetieth Asian Games will be held at Hangzhou this year from Sept. 23 to Oct. 8, and lambyseries will be participating in it. Throughout the years as a competitor, lambyseries entered many tournaments. More recently, he won the gold in Hearthstone Grandmasters 2022 Season 1 Week 1 for the APAC region.

In a reply to his tweet, lambyseries revealed that he will represent Singapore. His tweet included a screenshot of the message he received as well. It noted that the Singapore Esports Association invited him to participate in esports as an athlete.

Lambyseries and competitive Hearthstone

"Hey hearthstone we're finally in the end game. One last ride lets go," lambyseries wrote on Twitter.

For context, lambyseries announced his retirement from competitive Hearthstone back in January. This was around the same time of the Hearthstone esports 2023 roadmap reveal.

The card game's esports roadmap outlined seven competitive events for 2023. These included the following:

Spring Season Qualification Period: January to March

  • Masters Tour Spring Championship: April or May
  • Battlegrounds: Lobby Legends Spring Championship: May

Summer Season Qualification Period: April to June

  • Masters Tour Summer Championship: August or September
  • Battlegrounds: Lobby Legends Summer Championship: July or August

Fall Season - Qualification Period: July to September

  • Masters Tour Fall Championship: November
  • Battlegrounds: Lobby Legends Fall Championship: November

Hearthstone World Championship: TBD

  • 2023 Hearthstone World Championship: TBD

The original announcement revealed no prize pools for the three Hearthstone Masters Tour events, which differed from the $250,000 prize pools of 2022. However, after community feedback, Blizzard updated the prize pool distribution. Each Masters Tour will now feature $50,000 in prizing.
