Let the festivities begin!
It's Hearthstone's 10-year anniversary! To celebrate, the game is giving players the opportunity to earn free spell cards featuring different classes. There's also the Birthday Coin up for grabs. Read on for everything to know about this year's festivities, including all of the Hearthstone anniversary event quests and rewards.
Hearthstone anniversary event
Hearthstone's 10-year anniversary event boasts a bunch of quests that grant you Event XP upon completion. By playing or destroying 10 Mechs, for example, you can get 250 Event XP.
As you progress through these different quests, you may notice that all of them have a theme as well. Remember Year of the Hydra? That particular quest in the same name requires you to play or destroy a Colossal minion or even play an Infused card. These mechanics were introduced that same year through Voyage to the Sunken City and Murder at Castle Nathria!
Hearthstone anniversary quests and rewards
- Year One: Play or destroy 10 Mechs or use your hero power 10 times.
- Year of the Kraken: Play or summon minions or trigger your Deathrattles 10 times.
- Year of the Mammoth: Play or destroy 10 Elementals or Lifesteal minions.
- Year of the Raven: Play or destroy 10 Rush or Magnetic minions.
- Year of the Dragon: Play or destroy 10 Dragons or minions with Reborn.
- Year of the Phoenix: Play, summon, or destroy 5 Dormant minions or play or destroy 1 Yogg-Saron, Unleashed.
- Year of the Gryphon: Play 10 Tradeable cards or spells with a spell school.
- Year of the Hydra: Play or destroy a Colossal minion or play an Infused card.
There are eight Hearthstone anniversary quests in total. Completing each one grants 250 Event XP, which can then be redeemed for spells that feature the Discover keyword! Who wouldn't want a gift from their favorite hero? Just look at the uniquely-designed gifts from classic characters such as Jaina, Uther, and Garrosh!

- Anduin's Gift: Discover a temporary Power Word: Shield, Shadow Word: Pain, or Mind Control.
- Valeera's Gift: Discover a temporary Backstab, Deadly Poison, or Fan of Knives.
- Malfurion's Gift: Discover a temporary Feral Rage, Wild Growth, or Swipe.
- Thrall's Gift: Discover a temporary Lightning Bolt, Hex, or Bloodlust.
- Rexxar's Gift: Discover a temporary Kill Shot, Deadly Shot, or Explosive Shot.
- Jaina's Gift: Discover a temporary Frostbolt, Arcane Intellect, or Fireball.
- Uther's Gift: Discover a temporary Equality, Consecration, or Blessing of Kings.
- Garrosh's Gift: Discover a temporary Execute, Shield Block, or Brawl.
- Birthday Coin: Gain 1 mana crystal this turn only.
