Hearthstone announces Year of the Pegasus!

It’s time to celebrate Hearthstone’s past and future.

Hearthstone just announced the Year of the Pegesus! The announcement arrived just in time for the game's 10-year anniversary. Hearthstone's Year of the Pegasus will highlight the game's past and present with an update to the Core Set, three expansions, free legendary card, anniversary event, Twist update, and so much more. Hearthstone Year of the Pegasus expansions

Hearthstone Year of the Pegasus will feature three expansions throughout 2024. The first of them will be announced soon, but Blizzard posted a graphic to tease the upcoming themes. The first theme might be related to Mechs and Murlocs while the next one may involve a summer treasure hunt of sorts. The third expansion appears to have a celestial vibe.

Hearthstone Year of the Pegasus Core Set announced

Meanwhile, some old favorites will return to the Hearthstone Year of the Pegasus Core Set. These cards will include Leeroy Jenkins, Fiery War Axe, Justicar Trueheart, and Wrath of Air Totem.

Hearthstone anniversary rewards

Next, players will get to celebrate Hearthstone's 10-year anniversary with a plethora of in-game rewards. Between Feb. 27 and March 19, players will be able to progress through a special rewards track to earn items such as the special Birthday Coin. On March 11, there will also be a legendary quest that players can complete for the Hearthstone 10-Year Anniversary card back.

Hearthstone Twist celebrates the game's legacy

For fans of the Hearthstone Twist game mode and for those who remember Curse of Naxxramas and Goblins vs Gnomes, they'll be happy to know that these expansions will be added to Twist's legal card pool. Starting March 1, only legacy cards will be legal in Twist! Then, March 2 and March 3 will feature Curse of Naxxramas and Goblins vs Gnomes cards respectively.

"Each day, the next infusion of cards will be added until we've fast forwarded through the entire history of Hearthstone," Blizzard explained.

More Hearthstone anniversary goodies

Additionally, on March 11, Hearthstone fans will get to listen to the Hearthstone: Music from the Tavern album! This album will feature over 30 in-game tracks and be available on YouTube, Apple Music, Spotify, and more.

As for the Hearthstone community, players will be able to watch their favorite streamers and earn some free Twitch drops from March 11 10 a.m. PT to March 12 10 a.m. PT! There will also be a free Harth Stonebrew card up for grabs once Hearthstone patch 28.6 goes live.

Moreover, those who love both Hearthstone and World of Warcraft will be able to get the Fiery Hearthsteed World of Warcraft mount for free! Simply log in to Hearthstone starting on March 11 to unlock it.

"Also, from March 11 to March 18, you can seek out special “Hearthstone” matches in capital cities," the official announcement added. "Stick around long enough and you’ll face a special encounter where you can defeat iconic minions to add to your deck and earn other fun new Hearthstone-themed rewards!"
