Hearthstone announces Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set release date, cards, and more

The Great Dark Beyond will soon get the Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set! Blizzard previously announced this during the 2024 Blizzard Direct event, however, more details about the set was revealed on Jan. 13. Read on for the official Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set release date, some card previews, and more.

Hearthstone's Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set release date is Jan. 21. This set adds 49 new cards to the current expansion — The Great Dark Beyond. What's interesting about this set is that the cards are divided into three StarCraft factions: Zerg, Protoss, and Terran.

These 49 cards are broken down into three class cards per class, five multi-class cards per faction, and one neutral card.

While the Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock classes belong in the Zerg faction, the Protoss group is represented by the Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue classes. As for the Terran, that faction is represented by Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior players.

In terms of the card previews, we know that the Zerg faction is led by Sarah Kerrigan as a hero card. This faction has cards such as Spawning Pool, Zergling, and Hydralisk.

Meanwhile, the Protoss' leader is none other than High Templar Artanis. Cards that belong in this faction include Construct Pylons, Photon Cannon, and Carrier.

Then, we have the Terran faction led by Jim Raynor! Cards include SCV, Missile Pod, and Siege Tank. Terran facts, in particular synergize well with Starships. This is further emphasized with the special Battlecruiser Starship.

"If you are a Paladin, Shaman, or Warrior when you launch your Starship, it will be the Battlecruiser — just like how the Starship classes had unique art treatments in the main set, but expanded to also add a minion type," Blizzard explained, referring to how the card works and the addition of the the Mech minion type.

As for other cards in the Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set, they will be revealed on the following dates and times.
