Hearthstone progression update makes changes to Weekly Quests

Hearthstone released a statement on its website talking about the new update and how the team got here.

"Earlier this year, we made some adjustments to our Weekly Quests," Hearthstone game director Tyler Bielman stated. "Our initial changes in Patch 29.2 were aimed at rewarding our most committed players while encouraging others to play more. But after the changes went live, they didn’t reward players for their time in-game quite like we had hoped."

So now, the game is making changes to its progression system, looking to give players more accessible goals and more.

Everything in the progression update

  1. Reverting Weekly Quests: The completion requirements and XP grant amounts are returning to what they were prior to Hearthstone patch 29.2.
  2. Rewards Track improvements: This swaps out five of the early 50 gold grants for five The Great Dark Beyond packs. It also adds four The Great Dark Beyond packs to the Tavern Pass.
  3. Tavern Brawl update: The reward pack is changing from a Standard card pack to a pack from the latest expansion.
