If it stands, MoNsTcR’s ban from Halo matchmaking would conclude in 2124.
Halo Champion Series (HCS) competitor Chance "MoNsTcR" Duncan has received a 100-year ban from Halo Infinite for allegedly cheating. This news circulated on social media following several years of professional players accusing MoNsTcR of using an aimbot and wall hacks primarily online.
Although Halo Studios and the HCS have not commented on the ban, there is evidence to support that MoNsTcR's primary and alternate accounts have incurred the same penalty. Here is what we know about the situation.
Halo World Champion 'Bound' accuses MoNsTcR of cheating
This report made its rounds on social media following accusations from professional Halo player Adam 'Bound' Gray, who competed for Spacestation Gaming during the 2024 season. Although not the first time MoNsTcR has endured cheating accusations, Bound posted supposed proof of the player using an aimbot and wall hacks in an off-season online tournament.
The reigning Halo World Champion narrates several clips frame-by-frame, showcasing MoNsTcR allegedly locking onto opponents' heads and having visibility through walls. MoNsTcR responded, explaining that lousy internet and lag are to blame for the suspect clips while adding that Theater mode is not reliable. Despite planning to post his perspective, MoNsTcR has not posted on X since Jan. 5.
Halo veteran cannot play Halo Infinite until 2124
While some members within the HCS community defended MoNsTcR, X user XLR8 checked MoNsTcR's account on Leaf, an app designed to track Halo Infinite stats, only to discover an alarming notification. That notification reads, "MoNnsTcR has been suspended from matchmaking for cheating. MoNnsTcR's suspension will end at the following time: 11/25/2124, 2:34 PM."
During a live stream by professional player Brad 'aPG' Laws, he and several others located two alternate accounts allegedly belonging to the accused, which have also been banned. However, it's unknown whether this could be a mass report or if this ban is legitimate.

MoNsTcR issues a statement regarding the accusations
While enduring intense criticism from the community, MoNsTcR posted a lengthy statement on X. He claims he has never cheated in Halo Infinite and plans to utilize a monitor cam to prove himself. MoNsTcR addressed the ban issued by Halo, saying that the ban went into effect on Dec. 19, and he promptly reached out to the developers to rectify the issue.
He believes the matchmaking ban affecting his account is similar to an issue two years ago where another player spoofed his name while cheating. Otherwise, MoNsTcR feels it could be a malware-related issue that triggered Halo's anti-cheat.
The player's account still reflects the 100-year ban. Neither Halo Studios nor the Halo Champion Series have commented on the situation.
