What is the HCS Arlington Major tournament format?
There are three stages to the tournament:

The Open bracket is open signups and has a upper limit of 64 teams. The top two from the Upper Bracket advance to the Pool play. The Top two from the Lower bracket also go forth to the Pool Play
The Pool Play has sixteen teams comprising four groups of four teams each in a round-robin format. The top two teams of each group advance to the Championship Upper Bracket Round 1

The Championship Bracket is when things get spicy as only the best teams will still stand tall to compete. Twelve of the best teams in the world will face each other in a double-elimination bracket. All matches except the Grand Finals are bo5, while the Grand Finals are bo7 with a Bracket reset.
