During the Lantern Rite Festival, a new bug affecting Hydro Travelers surfaced within the community. Is Hydro Traveler broken?
Everyone was wrong about the Hydro Traveler. No damage? Useless? Well, not anymore. A Genshin Impact player, MMOJackX57 on X, discovered an in-game bug that makes the Hydro Traveler deal an absurd amount of damage with the Xiao Lantern. You might be wondering — how is it possible? Isn't the Xiao Lantern just a decorative item? It is, but somehow, it is becoming more than just decoration.
The Hydro Traveler bug
During the showcase, MMOJackX57 applied Bennett and Kazuha buffs and, in the middle of the fight, opened his inventory and put various Xiao Lanterns on the ground. We can see Hydro Traveler dealing more than 40,000 hydro damage in slow motion.
He showed his character's builds so we can see that nothing is out of the ordinary. Not satisfied, he tried with other bosses to see if the scenario would repeat itself. And it actually did. The community started talking about this and it soon reached content creators who decided to test it as well. Doro44, one of the biggest Genshin Impact streamers, did a test and he was shocked when it worked.
