Travelers can increase their World Level to 9 in an upcoming Genshin Impact update. Ad astra abyssosque!

The latest Genshin Impact developer discussion reveals plans for World Level 9, buffed drop rates, and other QoL improvements for future updates!

Alongside the changes, players will also receive 1,000,000 Mora via the in-game mail.

Genshin Impact adds World Level 9

The most notable point in the latest Developers Discussion is the addition of World Level 9. This will go live with the Genshin Impact version 5.0 update.

The option to upgrade to World Level 9 becomes available once players reach Adventure Rank 58.

What happens in World Level 9?

All enemies in the overworld will level up by ~10. This will make them tankier and deal more damage. However, the enemies will also have a better drop table. According to the Genshin Impact devs, at least 3 Character Level-Up Materials are guaranteed to drop from bosses.

Even Better Drops

High-level players aren't the only ones getting better drops, though. In Genshin Impact version 5.0, the drop rates for select enemies will be improved. In combination with the World Level 9 bonuses, farming will take less effort for endgame players. The affected enemies are:

  • Specter
  • Abyss Mage
  • Nobushi
  • Kairagi
  • Ruin Guard
  • Ruin Hunter
  • Ruin Grader

Quests and Battle Pass changes

The Reputation Quests for a region will be unavailable once the Reputation Level is maxed out. Due to this, the Battle Pass Weekly Missions related to Reputation Quests will be removed.

Three new missions will be introduced to the Battle Pass. These missions can be done once per update.

  • Enhance 5-star artifacts a total of 30/60/100 levels.

In total, this quest series will grant 3,600 BP EXP, 60 Primogems, and 60 Sanctifying Unctions.

The "Claim Daily Commission Rewards 4 times" will now reward 200 EXP, from 150.

Other QoL Improvements in Genshin Impact version 5.0

Even more changes that will make farming for characters easier are going live alongside World Level 9. On top of this, a lot of the in-game UI will be improved.

Better Collecting

There will be a "Go to collect" button for regional specialties which will put pins on your map. These pins are locations where you can collect the material. Also, the pins will let you know how many of that material has not yet been collected.

This change makes it easier to ascend characters as each of them requires a lot of local specialties.

The map pin limit will also increase by 50 in this update.

Artifact Mystic Offering

The following Artifact Sets are being added to the Mystic Offering:

  • Deepwood Memories
  • Gilded Dreams
  • Desert Pavilion Chronicle
  • Flower of Paradise Lost
  • Nymph's Dream
  • Vourukasha's Glow
  • Marechaussee Hunter
  • Golden Troupe

Serenitea Pot Improvements

The Serenitea Pot load limit will be increased by about 60% of what it currently is.

The Furnishing Inventory limit will also expand from 2,000 to 2,200.

Better UI

The UI for the following systems will be improved:

  • Food usage and inventory
  • Cooking
  • Condensed Resin crafting
  • Weapon Enhancement
  • Forging
  • Personal Profile Display Page
