Kinich Kit

Kinich is a 5-Star Dendro Claymore character. However, unlike Kaveh who relies on Elemental Reactions to deal damage, Kinich is a more straightforward attacker. He scales off of ATK and brings a new mechanic to the game: mid-air combos. He is accompanied by a pixelated dragon named A’jaw, who plays a big part in Kinich’s Elemental Burst.

Do note that the details of Kinich’s kit, constellations, and others below did not come from official sources, and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Kinich Combat Skills

Kinich’s gameplay revolves around his Elemental Skill, as well as the aforementioned mid-air combos. His skill also implements the Natlan-specific Nightsoul mechanic.

Normal Attack: Nightsun Style

This is the usual normal attack combo for Claymore users, but it does have a twist. After using his Elemental Skill, he can perform his Normal Attack combo in mid-air.

Elemental Skill: Canopy Hunter: Riding High

This skill implements the brand-new Nightsoul mechanic for Natlan characters. Upon using the skill, he will use a grappling hook to pull himself toward either an enemy or an object.

If Kinich hits an object, he will himself toward it, and part of his Skill cooldown will be refunded. If he hits an enemy, he will tether himself to the enemy and enter the Nightsoul’s Blessing state with 0 Nightsoul points. Otherwise, he will use his grappling hook to swing mid-air and put this ability in a reduced cooldown.

Under the Nightsoul’s Blessing effect, Kinich will gain the following effects:

  • Kinich launches Loop Shots as his normal attack, while also going in a circle around the tethered enemy. Attacks that hit will grant him Nightsoul Points.
  • Once the points are full, he can recast his Elemental Skill to use "Scalespiker Cannon."
  • If the tether breaks, either by going too far from the enemy or for other reasons, he can use his Normal Attack to reconnect to nearby enemies.
  • After grappling an opponent or firing Scalespiker Cannon, a Blind Spot will spawn near the enemy. Restore 4 Nightsoul points when he enters this area.

Scalespiker Cannon

  • This takes the place of his Elemental Skill when he has maximum Nightsoul points.
  • Pressing Scalespiker Cannon will deal with Nightsoul-aligned Dendro DMG.
  • Holding will allow aiming.

Elemental Burst: Hail to the Almighty Dragonlord

Unleash the power of Ajaw, dealing AoE Dendro DMG. Ajaw will then deal AoE Dendro DMG in intervals. Using the Elemental Burst while in Nightsoul’s blessing will increase the duration of Ajaw’s attacks.

Kinich Passive Talents

Surprisingly, he has four passives. Two of these are combat passives, while the other two are for exploration. Kinich's kit also has a passive that gives him synergy with other Natlan characters.

Swift Envoy

When in an area with Phlogiston Mechanics, gathering specific items will increase the party’s movement speed. This passive also highlights the Natlan-specific materials.

Night Realm’s Gift: Repaid in Full

Kinich can spend Phlogiston to swing a second time after performing his Elemental Skill. This passive also has additional effects if the player switches to him while the active character is sprinting, or in mid-air:

  • If a Coilgrass Sigil is nearby, grapple toward it
  • If an enemy is nearby and the player is in combat, tether to nearby enemies
  • If neither of these is possible, grapple and swing instead

Additionally, if the player is interacting with Coilgrass Sigils and other items that Yumkasaurs can interact with, the Elemental Skill will not go on cooldown

The Price of Desolation

While in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, enemies that are hit by Kinich’s Elemental Skill will enter the Desolation state. When enemies in the Desolation state are affected by Burning or Burgeon, he will gain Nightsoul points.

Flame Spirit Pact

Whenever a party member triggers a Nightsoul Burst, gain a stack of Hunter’s Experience. Using the Elemental Skill will consume all Hunter’s Experience stacks, with each stack increasing the damage that the cannon deals.

Kinich Constellations

Kinich's Constellations makes his Elemental Skill hit harder and empowers his Scalespiker Cannon.

  1. Parrot’s Beak - After he swings using his Elemental Skill and lands, gain a Movement SPD boost. Scalespiker Cannon’s CRIT DMG will also increase.
  2. Tiger Beetle’s Palm - Enemies hit by the Elemental Skill will have their Dendro RES reduced. The first Scalespiker Cannon will also be empowered, increasing its AoE and DMG.
  3. Protosuchian’s Claw - Increase the level and level cap of Elemental Skil
  4. Hummingbird’s Feather - While in Nightsoul’s Blessing, restore energy while attacking. Hail to the Almighty Dragonlord will also deal more DMG
  5. Howler Monkey’s Tail - Increase the level and level cap of Elemental Burst
  6. Auspicious Beast’s Shape - The Scalespiker Cannon will bounce to an additional enemy. This bounce will trigger the effects of related Passive and Constellation effects.

Kinich will be available as a playable character in the Genshin Impact version 5.0 update, scheduled to come out on August 28, 2024.
