When is Blizzcon 2023? We now know the answer and the early first details about the return of the fan-favorite event.

One of the biggest weekends in gaming, we now have an answer to when is Blizzcon 2023 taking place. Announced today via a trailer on YouTube, publisher Activision's community convention is set for Nov. 3-4, 2023 in Anaheim, CA. This marks the return of an event that's been on hold since 2021. While the pandemic is the most obvious culprit, the lack of a Blizzcon in 2022 is also due to internal strife within Activision.

Blizzcon 2023: Heroes of the Storm 2 announced

"After four years of gathering online–adventuring through Azeroth, teaming up in Overwatch, traversing the fields of Sanctuary, or warming yourself by the fire in the Tavern–it’s finally time to gather in person once more. We are happy to announce that BlizzCon will be returning to the Anaheim Convention Center on November 3-4."

The announcement from Blizzard about when Blizzcon 2023 is happening feels like a long time coming. Gaming's pandemic era ruined a lot of community events and goodwill, with Blizzcon as one hit hardest. A return to form couldn't have come at a better time for the publisher. Multiple stories about union negotiations, poor relationships with its Chinese publishers, and multiple lawsuits have plagued the company the last three years.

And what better way to stoke the audience than a big ole hootenannie?

No details yet on content at the show, nor what the annual virtual ticket will entail. That said, I'm sure one and all will be waiting with baited breath to find out what Blizzard has instore for fans and observers alike. The trailer features a heavy focus on World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, Overwatch 2, and Diablo 4. Don't be surprised if the focus falls on those three games, as well as a virtual ticket goodie bag with items abound.

We'll have more information on Blizzcon 2023 as it becomes available. Until then, save up your money and get ready for new raids, new Overwatch Heroes, and the release of Diablo 4 next month.
