Journey into the depths of the Ulduar raid in Wrath Classic beginning soon. Here’s what is in-store for players.
Looking for a reason to go back to World of Warcraft Classic? You might not be alone, as Dragonflight's launch seemed to eat the throwback game's lunch. However, if ever there was a reason to re-return its to experience the amazing Ulduar raid in Wrath Classic, set to go live next week.
One of the best designed and storydriven raids in all of World of Warcraft, the Ulduar launch in Wrath Classic has some new surprises in store for old players, new players, and old new players alike.
The content patch goes live on Jan. 16. Let's look at what to expect from the launch of Ulduar.
Ulduar in Wrath Classic: emblem changes
One of the hallmarks of old-school raiding is the emblem systems. In lieu of actual loot dropping off bosses, many also give different emblems. This was designed to allow players to slowly accrue loot if they weren't able to raid consistently or--the most likely answer--get good RNG on their drops.
Emblems of Conquest will now drop from all Ulduar raid bosses in Wrath Classic. You'll also score these emblems from the Heroic Dungeon daily quest. Likewise, Emblems of Valor also now drop from all Heroic Dungeon bosses. Meanwhile, Emblems of Heroism no longer drop from bosses and are only obtainable from a money changer in The Underbelly.
The Conquest vendors for each faction are located in Dalaran and offer in-slot loot, as well as raid-tier sets.

Oh goody: The Argent Tournament arrives
Forgive me for having bad memories of the Argent Tournament. A hub for dailies, world quests, and more, the Tournament is one of the biggest grinds in WoW history. However, the full tournament won't be open quite yet, as it's slotted in-between Ulduar and Icecrown Citadel. Still, you can head on out to Icecrown starting on launch day to do dailies and see what's going on at this future raid site.
A new challenge appears
All level 80 dungeons now feature a Mysterious Titan Relic at the start. This is, essentially, a Wrath Classic version of a Mythic difficulty, offering more challenges and a much greater reward. As an added bonus, the loot table for this new difficulty comes from the Normal 10-player versions of Naxxramas, Eye of Eternity, and The Obsidian Sanctum. So, if you're looking to play catch-up for Ulduar then look no further.
Ulduar opens in Wrath Classic
Beginning Jan. 19 the Ulduar raid opens for all players, starting around 3 p.m. PST. The summary:
For millennia, Ulduar has remained undisturbed by mortals, far away from their concerns and their struggles. Yet since its recent discovery, many have wondered what the structure's original purpose may have been. Some thought it a city, built to herald the glory of its makers; some thought it a vault containing innumerable treasures, perhaps even relics of the mighty Titans themselves. Such speculations were wrong. Beyond Ulduar's gates lies no city, no treasure vault, no final answer to the Titan's mysteries. All that awaits those who dare set foot in Ulduar is a horror even the Titans could not, would not destroy, an evil they merely... contained.
In addition, a new Vault of Archavon boss becomes available on Jan. 23. This boss, much like the previous wing of the Vault, opens for the victors of the Battle at Wintergrasp.
