The July 19 release of EA Sports College Football 25 is just weeks away, with more and more information being released about the game each week. Recently, developers revealed more about how teams will stack up against one another at the game's launch, noting that these will be subject to change as the season progresses. So, here are the top 25 team rankings in overall, offense, and defense in College Football 25.

Top 25 offensive teams in College Football 25

According to developers, the top 25 offensive team rankings in College Football 25 are the following:

  2. Oregon - 94 OVR
  3. Alabama - 91 OVR
  4. Texas - 91 OVR
  5. Ohio State - 89 OVR
  6. LSU - 89 OVR
  7. Miami - 89 OVR
  8. Colorado - 89 OVR
  9. Missouri - 89 OVR
  10. Clemson - 87 OVR
  11. Utah - 87 OVR
  12. Penn State - 87 OVR
  13. Ole Miss - 87 OVR
  14. Kansas - 87 OVR

On the defensive side, it's no surprise to see teams like Iowa at 88 overall and Ohio State at 96 overall who looked solid on that side of the ball in the 2023-2024 season. Otherwise, you have lots of schools tied up at 84 and 88 overall, with seven schools at 90+ overall on defense.

It's no surprise to see the names present on this list as all of these teams showed flashes of greatness in the 2023-2024 season and look to continue that in the coming season. Many of these teams are also housed in some of the game's toughest stadiums to play in, making for a truly difficult opponent.

It is, however, worth noting that these rankings do differ a bit from some unofficial ratings that were previewed early on, so developers will likely look to aggressively patch the game to reflect real-world success or failure. Therefore, we will continue to update these rankings as they are amended throughout the 2024-2025 season.
