Star Wars: Hunters won’t arrive on PC and won’t be playable on any platform past October, as Zynga shuts it down.

Star Wars: Hunters had decent success when it launched, but unfortunately it now joins a long list comes games to shut down. The team at Zynga has informed its community that April will see the game's last content update. And the title will shut down for good come October.

The game jumped into the hero shooter genre at a time when just about every other company decided to do the same. It arrived in June of 2024 on both iOS and Android, along with Nintendo Switch. The content was aplenty and the roadmap was exciting.

It apparently did not maintain an active enough player base, however. Even after it was finally announced for PC. Now, it will never see a PC launch on Steam or any other platform, as it will no longer enter Early Access at all with announcement of its closer.

Having played the game, it was a fun title to pass the time and the ranked mode was interesting and competitive. It also had lots of rewards and was a great game to introduce new characters to Star Wars fans.

Sadly, though, a few months shy of a year after its initial launch, Star Wars: Hunters is being shut down. The team announced via X that April 15, 2025 will be its last content update. The upcoming Hunter Tuya will be made free to everyone.

Following that, however, the game will essentially be dead. They won't deliver any other updates and once October 1, 2025 gets here, Star Wars: Hunters is shut down for good. It's a shame, but it is a far too common thing in the industry these days.
