After a period of paid alpha access, SMITE 2 becomes free for players to enjoy. This step is part of the development plan.
SMITE 2 has reached an important point in its early lifespan. The game takes a jump to the beta version. And what is even more interesting for most players is that SMITE 2 is free for everyone.
When is SMITE 2 going free-to-play?

What is available for free in SMITE 2?
Like many other MOBA games, such as League of Legends or Dota 2, SMITE 2 provides free players with the full experience. The monetization scheme of this title is based on selling cosmetic items such as skins for the characters. However, there are some paid ascension boosts, which is similar to Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB).
The free edition of SMITE 2 includes the following.
- Free rotation of gods (game characters)
- The full variety of game modes, including two new: Duel on the map Joust and Assault.

What about the players who paid for SMITE 2?
SMITE 2 Founder’s Edition is the most basic option for players who are willing to pay for SMITE 2 or already did it during the previous development stage. If you have it, you keep the benefits.
- Access to all gods
- Avatar/badge and title: Founder
- Cacodemon Ymir skin
- Two legacy gems
There also are more expensive options to buy SMITE 2. They include the same benefits as the Founder’s Edition and something extra
- SMITE 2 Deluxe: Nightstalker Neith skin and Ascension passes for 11 Alpha gods.
- SMITE 2 Ultimate: Ascension passes for 23 Alpha gods, The Fallen Zeus skin, Ultimate avatar/badge and title.
The free version of SMITE doesn’t give these advantages.

SMITE introduced a pretty interesting approach to the MOBA genre. Instead of the top-down view, players here control their characters from the third-person perspective.
