The UFO ending is back in Silent Hill f.
Silent Hill f is the first mainline entry in the acclaimed horror franchise in thirteen years. While it doesn't take place in the infamous town of Silent Hill, it retains the series' psychological horror roots.
Like previous games, Silent Hill f also features multiple endings. More precisely, five endings, according to its writer, Ryukishi07. This also includes the non-canonical UFO ending.
There are no good or bad endings in Silent Hill f

During a recent press event for Silent Hill f in Tokyo, Ryukishi07 not only confirmed the number of endings in this title, but also what to expect from them. As reported by Polygon, the acclaimed visual novelist also added that players will only get to experience one particular ending in their first playthrough. It’s primarily because the developers want players to experience a handcrafted, singular story.
However, this doesn’t mean the rest of Silent Hill f’s endings will not be canon. Specific actions and choices in subsequent playthroughs will allow players to explore different sides of the same story through unique endings. It’s worth noting, though, that none of these endings will be objectively good or bad, except perhaps the UFO one.
In the same press event, Ryukishi07 explained that none of the four canon endings in Silent Hill f will be “black and white,” implying there’s no good or bad conclusions to Hinako’s story.
For those unaware, every mainline Silent Hill game has featured a UFO ending. In these goofy undertakings, the protagonist is swayed away by aliens onto their spaceships.
The UFO ending in Silent Hill f, however, may seem more grounded, as Hinako’s journal contains snippets of a make-belief sci-fi game about alien abductions, which she used to play with her childhood classmate Shu.

Silent Hill f’s NG+ plus mode includes different boss fights and new cinematics

To make subsequent playthroughs more engaging, Silent Hill f will include a New Game Plus mode. Interestingly, it seems to be more ambitious than last year’s Silent Hill 2 remake. Konami and NeoBards have confirmed that the game’s NG+ mode will offer different boss fights, new cinematic sequences, additional story beats, and more exploration.
The boss fights stand out, as they can be new takes on existing enemies or new encounters altogether. Either way, this means more challenges, and that's something players should be excited about.
Silent Hill f arrives on September 25, 2025, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
