Revealed today at CES, AMD’s Radeon RX 7600 XT is an entry price GPU with 1440p aspirations. Let’s look at the raw numbers.

CES 2024 kicked off today with a slew of PC hardware announcements from every direction. And while NVIDIA seems hyper-focused on AI, AMD is going a different direction. Revealed today and announced for a January 24 release, the Radeon RX 7600 XT looks to get players going at 1440p for $329 USD. Featuring 16GB of RAM, the 7600 XT is meant as a counter to NVIDIA's own RTX 4060 8GB card.

What does this mean for you, the esports fan? Simply put, the Radeon RX 7600 XT is an affordable GPU built for speed, high frames, and lower latency. Who doesn't love that?

The Radeon RX 7600 XT is a sizable upgrade in both memory and price when compared to AMD's last offering, a $269 offering with only 8GB. And while it can sometimes feel like the hardware scene moves too fast to keep up, you won't be alone if you're not so much worried about 4K experience as you are running the current games at 1080p.

That's the boat I'm in, and the Radeon RX 7600 XT appeals heavily to my sensibilities. I last upgraded my own video card back in 2020, but still don't think I need to take the 4K plunge. Given the NVIDIA-led arms race for more powerful cards in the last three years, it's heartening to see something more affordable that still has a kick.

Featuring 16GB of GDDR6 and a power draw of 190 watts, the 7600 XT seems like a sweet spot. That's also what AMD aims for, as the card is also capable of 1440p resolutions while not sounding like a jet plane is taking off. This is more than enough power to run the likes of Overwatch 2 and VALORANT at max settings.

This new line of cards from AMD will launch on Jan. 24. This includes manufacturers Acer, ASRock, Asus, Gigabyte, PowerColor, Sapphire, and XFX.
