Varwolf Neopet now live
A brand-new Neopet is now available. Teased earlier this month with cropped images and announced later, the Varwolf species has finally arrived. This species was also introduced back in Neopets Year 7 as an April Fools' Day joke.

The Varwolves are elusive creatures that have been tucked away in the Haunted Woods for years. Now, however, they're looking to find their place in the rest of Neopia. Additionally, Varwolves like dark and spooky places. They also have thick fur and spend a lot of time looking for Gross Food items in the Haunted Woods.

How to create a Varwolf on Neopets
Every Neopian can get a Varwolf. However, early access to the new species goes to Neopets Premium members. Neopians with this subscription can now use the Species Change perk to get a Varwolf. If a player has already used this perk, then they can use it again to convert one of their Neopets into this new species.
Neopets Premium costs $7.95 USD per month. There's also the yearly membership that costs $69.95 USD per year, which is the same as $5.83 USD per month. Sometimes, the website offers membership discounts as well.
As for those without a subscription, they can get a Varwolf when the species launches for everyone in July 2025. Neopians must play through an event and questline to unlock their own Varwolf. This event and questline are not time-limited, either. Therefore, Neopians can get a Varwolf whenever they wish to do so.
