Stellar Blade will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive. Game Director Kim Hyung Tae explained why.
Action-adventure title Stellar Blade for the PlayStation 5 has become a hot prospect on the 2024 game release calendar, leaving gamers asking whether it will be coming to PC or Xbox Series X|S.
Is Stellar Blade coming to PC & XBOX?
No, unfortunately Stellar Blade is a PlayStation 5 exclusive and will not be released on PC or Xbox Series X|S. The game was originally called Project EVE and was slated for a PS4 release. Sony became involved in development of the title after being impressed by Shift Up's playable prototype in 2021. The game was then renamed from Project EVE to Stellar Blade.
According to Stellar Blade's Game Director Hyung-Tae Kim in an interview with Pushsquare, it was thanks to Sony's help that Shift Up completed the game.

"I felt that I wanted to release a high-quality game on a single platform," said Kim Hyung Tae, SHIFT UP CEO and Stellar Blade Director to Famitsu. "And so when it came to deciding on which platform, I determined PlayStation 5 would deliver the most optimal gameplay experience.”
Kim Hyung Tae went on to add that his history with gaming truly began with the release of the original PlayStation, and that it played a "large part in shaping my personal values about games".
Dongi Lee, Stellar Blade's Technical Director, added in the Famitsu interview that the team believed the fast loading of the SSD and adaptive triggers of the Playstation 5 DualSense controller would increase the player's sense of immersion.
Unfortunately this does mean that there will be no Stellar Blade release on PC or Xbox Series X|S.
When can we play the full game?
Stellar Blade joins the likes of Rise of the Ronin and Death Stranding 2 on the PlayStation exclusive list for 2024. Stellar Blade is set for release on April 26, 2024.
