SEGA and Creative Assembly have unveiled HYENAS, a zero-gravity shooter that sees you heisting SEGA merch from space stations.
There’s something captivating about heists: The Oceans 11 series has like six movies, "The Great Train Robbery" is part of modern mythology, and Payday 2 is still one of the best co-op shooters around. So it’s no surprise that SEGA and Creative Assembly’s recently announced HYENAS shooter game is generating some buzz, especially now a new trailer has just dropped:
From first impressions the gameplay looks incredibly impressive and the graphics are stylish. "X-meets-Y" metaphors are kind of lazy… but if we had to use one, this seems like Overwatch-meets-Payday. We love the way this looks, and hope the trailer’s energy is matched in the game.
What is HYENAS?
HYENAS is a zero-gravity hero-based heist shooter that sees you and a team of other players attempt to pull of heists in a variety of zero-g locations. Think stealing from space stations, snatching from the space shuttle, that kind of thing. Except, you’re robbing priceless Sega merchandise. Kinda dystopian, but who among us isn’t willing to throw down our lives in the name of robbing a Sonic the Hedgehog figure?
The heroes (although we’re sure they’ll get a more exciting name closer to release) have heist-appropriate abilities such as foam guns, laser cutters, drones, sentry guns. Plus just regular guns. Of course.
