Genshin Impact released a fiery trailer for Natlan, teasing a lot of new characters.

A new Genshin Impact teaser featuring a lot of upcoming characters from Natlan has been uploaded. The video, titled "Ignition Teaser: A Name Forged in Flames" gives a brief look at the story, characters, and the Natlan region. We even got a glimpse at Mavuika, who could be the Pyro Archon!

New characters in Natlan teaser

This latest Genshin Impact teaser showed a total of eight new characters that have the potential to be playable. What caught the eye of the fans the most, however, was Mavuika, who is possibly the Pyro Archon.

Mavuika

Mavuika is seen in the Natlan teaser in a position of leadership. This short appearance has the community speculating if she is the Pyro Archon. In-game, the Pyro Archon has only been named once as "Murata," the God of War, but it's unknown whether she remains the Pyro Archon.

Mavuika's fiery hair might be referencing a panel from the Genshin Impact prologue manga, where it says "the Children of Murata, the Lady of Fire, are a hardy people blessed with a head of fiery-red hair."

She is possibly named after Mahuika, a Maori fire god.

Kinich

We already saw Kinich in the Natlan preview shown during the Genshin Impact version 4.8 livestream. Unofficial information suggests that Kinich is a 5-star Dendro Claymore character set for a version 5.0 release.

He is possibly named after Kinich Ahau, the Yucatec name for the Mayan sun god.

Mualani

She also appeared in the previous teaser. According to leaks, Mualani is a 5-star Hydro Catalyst and that she will share version 5.0 with Kinich.

Kachina

Kachina is the third character that was shown during the first Natlan trailer. This one confirms her Geo vision (peep her arm!) and leaks say she is a 4-star character and is slated for a version 5.0 release.

She is possibly named after a spirit being in certain Native American cultures.

Xilonen

Xilonen is a newly revealed Natlan character. The trailer reveals her Geo vision, and leaks say she will wield a Bow and will be featured in version 5.1.

Outside of Genshin Impact, Xilonen is another name for Chicōmecōātl, the Aztec goddess of agriculture.

Chasca

The trailer revealed Chasca, but unfortunately, we did not get to see her vision. Unofficial information dictates that Chasca is a Bow-user and will release in version 5.1, similar to Xilonen.

Chasca's name is possibly borrowed from the Incan goddess of dawn and twilight.

Ororon

Ororon did not have much screentime in the teaser, but he got his own artcard, suggesting that he will be an important character in Natlan. According to leaks, Ororon is a Bow-user and will be released in version 5.2.

He is possibly named after Olorun, the god of the heavens in African Mythology.

Citlali

The trailer not only revealed Citlali, but also gave us a clear view of her Cryo vision. Leaks say that she wields a Catalyst and will be released in version 5.3

Citlali is an Aztec name which means "star."

"Almighty Dragonlord (Self-Proclaimed)" K'uhul Ajaw

Seen alongside Kinich, this self-proclaimed Almighty Dragonlord's name directly translates to "divine lord." Cheeky.

Iansan

Iansan is possibly named after the Iansá (also known as Oya) of Yoruba origin, a river deity.

Natlan is scheduled to go live on August 28th, 2024 with Genshin Impact version 5.0.
