Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic official date revealed

The announcement of Five Nights at Freddy's: Secret of the Mimic arrived back in August after the franchise's 10-year anniversary. One of the biggest horror gaming series now has an official release date for its newest title about the Mimic. It’s going to be a great year for FNAF fans — especially with the Dead by Daylight collaboration set for the summer and the second movie releasing on Dec. 5.

This announcement was a huge surprise for fans who thought that Steel Wool Studios would announce a DLC for the 2023 Help Wanted 2 game. However, they surprised everyone with a new game called Five Nights at Freddy's: Secret of the Mimic. This new title will combine the typical horror of FNAF with new lore, animatronics, and many mysteries. Here is the official trailer.

The Mimic is the main antagonist of the Tales from the Pizzaplex series, as well as the RUIN DLC for Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach. He was created by Edwin Murray, one of the board members and former engineers of Fazbear Entertainment. His goal was to make an animatronic with artificial intelligence to take care of his son, David. However, the four-year-old child ended up dying in a car accident and Mimic was beaten up by Edwin. The animatronic became infected by the agony and turned into a violent machine.

However, it's important to understand that before David's death, Mimic was an infantile and friendly machine. After the beating, Mimic became a violence-driven metal giant animatronic that manipulates its prey. He claimed various victims in different books. He is also one of the first animatronics to be introduced in FNAF by the books. Normally, the characters are introduced through the games.
