The next title in the Five Nights at Freddy’s series to come out will be Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2. The game is currently under development by Steel Wool Studios. They are the same studio behind Help Wanted 1, Security Breach, and Security Breach: Ruin. Recent amazing convention displays have helped hype up Help Wanted 2.

What is FNAF: Help Wanted 2?

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 will be the sequel to the popular FNAF: Help Wanted. The first game was a collection of mini games in a VR setting. Each game is based on previous installments in the FNAF series.

The trailer for Help Wanted 2 confirmed that the game will focus more on FNAF: Sister Location, with Ballora featured as the final jumpscare and Circus Baby’s head on display at PAX. We can also assume that Help Wanted 2 will expand to feature various minigames inspired by or recreated from previous FNAF games.

When does Help Wanted 2 come out?

So far, we don’t have a confirmed release date for Help Wanted 2. The only solid information is the "late 2023" seen at the end of the first teaser trailer for the game.

What was at the PAX booths?

At the most recent PAX conventions this year, fans were treated to fully moving and speaking partial animatronics of Circus Baby, from FNAF: Sister Location, and Eclipse from FNAF: Security Breach.

Alongside these shockingly cool animatronics were life sized Freddy Fazbear and Glamrock Freddy. The cosplays are made by Da Regular Sauce and deserve every ounce of praise we can give.

Fans were also able to play some minigame demos from Help Wanted 2. This includes a game similar to Funtime with Plushtrap, the hallway mini game from FNAF 3.

How will this game continue the lore of FNAF?

Here we’ll briefly cover the lore events of Help Wanted 1. In universe, FNAF: Help Wanted is an attempt by Fazbear Entertainment to dispel rumors about hauntings and deaths happening in their establishments. The game’s purpose is to show how all of those “urban legends” were completely fake.

However, the developers of the in universe game hid tapes throughout the game that warn the player. These warnings are about issues occurring during the game’s development. These include information about a mysterious character known as Glitchtrap who seems to be trying to escape. The conclusion of the game has four possible endings, all of which involve Glitchtrap attempting to escape the game. In fact, in one ending, Glitchtrap says, ”I always come back”. You might recognize this as the most iconic line of the FNAF franchise’s first antagonist, William Afton.

Each ending involves Glitchtrap, and a character named Vanny, with what is most likely the canon ending focusing on the Princess Quest level, which seems to thwart Glitchtrap’s escape. If Glitchtrap sounds familiar, you might recognize it from the end of Ruin, the DLC for FNAF: Security Breach. In that game, Glitchtrap once again attempts to escape, this time from the shockingly huge caverns below the now abandoned Fazbear Megaplex. We can assume that Help Wanted 2 will also feature some sort of escape attempt by Glitchtrap into the real world, but maybe third times the charm?
