Envy Gaming acquires operating rights for Esports Stadium Arlington until 2030 for $2.35 million

Envy Gaming will be operating the Esports Stadium Arlington until 2030 after striking an 8-year deal for $2.35 million.

Envy Gaming, the owners of Team Envy, OWL's Dallas Fuel and CDL's Optic Texas, have acquired the operating rights to the Esports Stadium Arlington until 2030.

The Esports Stadium Arlington may ring a bell, and that's because it was the location for the glamorous Esports Awards 2021. In the past it has also been a venue for the Overwatch League.

The first event to be held under the new management will be the season kick-off tournament for the Call of Duty League on January 21st to 23rd.

A smart business move by Envy Gaming

Envy Gaming's deal to operate the Esports Stadium Arlington is a great move.

To quote Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - a brilliant British film that you should definitely watch - "It's a deal, it's a steal, it's the sale of the f*cking century".

Why? Well, first the 8-year cost is a modest $2.35 million, plus the first three years will cost Envy Gaming just $250,000 a year according to the Dallas Morning News. The 100,000 square ft venue has a history in esports, and has hosted the Esports Awards and the Overwatch League.

"Esports Stadium Arlington is without a doubt the best venue in North America right now for any publisher or league considering an esports event with spectators."

Geoff Moore, president and COO at Envy

“Esports Stadium Arlington is without a doubt the best venue in North America right now for any publisher or league considering an esports event with spectators.

"Keeping Esports Stadium Arlington operating at a high level is a natural extension of what we strive for at Envy Gaming: we want to give all people that love gaming the opportunity to enjoy amazing competitions in a social environment,” said Geoff Moore, president and COO at Envy.

“Live events, and the reactions they generate from the players and audiences, create a unique experience for both the attending fans and anyone watching the broadcast. The beauty of Esports Stadium Arlington is that this valuable experience can be created very efficiently.”

Envy Gaming already operates two teams in franchised esports leagues, and having a top tier venue in their back-pocket should create new exciting - and likely profitable - opportunities for the business.
