Diablo 4 gets a release date; will get open beta early access

Diablo 4 will release on June 6, 2023, as per the new trailer at The Game Awards. This announcement comes just days after a leaked document showed the game’s release date.

Diablo IV will continue Blizzard’s RPG series with an open-world version including character upgrading and skill boards. Diablo 4 will have a public beta release before the official release. The game will release on the PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

When will Diablo 4 be released?

Several Blizzard employees have had to go through ‘crunch time’ to finish the game on time. There’s a lot of pressure on Blizzard employees to finalize the game’s release by June 2023. The company is also providing them with stock options ranging from $5,000 to nearly $50,000 based on employees’ seniority.

When does Diablo 4 beta start?

Blizzard has not yet confirmed the release date for Diablo 4. However, with the final release date confirmed to be June 6, the beta release should come a few months before that. The estimated start date for the Diablo 4 beta is around March-April.

Diablo 4 was announced nearly four years ago at Blizzcon 2019. With customizable characters and armor, there is palpable excitement for the game’s release. There will be five classes in Diablo 4 - Barbarian, Rogue, Sorceress, Druid and Necromancer.

Blizzard has also confirmed the game will have a battle pass with seasons rotating in a three months cycle. The battle pass will only feature cosmetic upgrades with Blizzard confirming “you will not be able to pay for power in Diablo IV.”

The game is available for pre-purchase right now across multiple platforms. Diablo 4 features three editions: The Standard edition, Digital Deluxe Edition and finally the Ultimate edition. The Digital deluxe and Ultimate edition purchasers will get up to four days of early access to Diablo 4's launch along with other cosmetics.
