Destiny 2 Codename Frontiers coming after The Final Shape

In a developer update on June 10, Destiny 2 developers provided details about what to expect in the three episodes of The Final Shape and teased a glimpse into what is coming next, calling it Codename Frontiers. Developers placed this codename next to the Destiny 2 logo, only showing the text, "The Journey Continues 2025" afterward.

This could prove to put some of the rumors about a Destiny 3 or other rumored codenames to bed and seems to point towards developers keeping with the Destiny 2 IP. However, this is purely speculation, and fans will have to wait to hear more from developers before figuring out what Codename Frontiers really means for Destiny 2.

Craftable potions and the Dreadnaught coming in Episodes 2 and 3 of Destiny 2: The Final Shape

In the same reveal video that teased Codename Frontiers, developers shared a bit more about what to expect in the three episodes of Destiny 2: The Final Shape. As some players already see, Nessus will be the focus of Episode 1: Echoes, which focuses on the literal ripple effects made by the campaign and has us fighting Vex on the red planet.

Episode 2, titled Revenant, will focus on the Fallen as the race attempts to find a new home in the stars. This episode will also introduce potion crafting, which will emphasize combat buffs. Lastly, Episode 3: Heresy will take us back to the Dreadnaught with the Hive being the central foe and the armor players can earn matching the Hive aesthetic.
