Strange Scaffold strikes once more!
After the positive reception of Life Eater, Strange Scaffold is back. Two new games have been announced, with CLICKOLDING, a dark incremental narrative game, releasing on July 16, 2024. Fans are gearing up for the dev's latest mind-bender. Here are CLICKOLDING's system requirements so you can jump right in.
CLICKOLDING System requirements
Before we get into what CLICKOLDING is and what makes it so great, make sure your system matches the requirements for running the game. Given its focus on the story and the dark atmospheric environment, the game is expected to run smoothly on all modern computers. And with the release date a few days away, the developers have only released basic guidelines so far. We'll update this article if the system requirements change significantly later.
Here are the CLICKOLDING system requirements:
Minimum Requirements
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit
- Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD 2.5 GHz or superior
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: Any DirectX 11 or 12 compatible card
- Storage: 2 GB available space
The minimum system requirements are the bare minimum for the game to run. However, for a smoother performance, it is always recommended to play the game on a system with better specifications.

What is CLICKOLDING?
Strange Scaffold is an indie developer renowned for its incredible mind-bending games. Usually, in the horror genre, these games start with a completely stupid premise and make them into games that usually have a much deeper meaning. That's what makes them a must-play for fans of the studio who have experienced it in the past. An Airport for Aliens Currently Run by Dogs, right from its name, is the most bizarre collection of words to grace a Steam page. But that premise makes for a game filled with comedy, puzzles, and more.
Similarly, the most recent release before CLICKOLDING, Life Eater, features a gameplay loop set entirely inside a linear video editor. That's what makes CLICKOLDING so special. Its trailer gave fans very little to go off of. And the Steam description is no better.
CLICKOLDING is a dark incremental narrative game about thumbing a tally counter to satisfy the distressing masked man sitting in the corner of your hotel room. If you leave, you don't get the money, and you can't come back. If you stay...
You won't be the same.
And neither will he.
That simple premise, however, is probably hiding another horror mind-bender. The "villain" already resembles the Shadow King from FX's mutant show Legion. And the simple gameplay loop of clicking the tally counter and earning money is more suited for a cookie-clicker-esque idle game, not a horror one. What's in store? Only Strange Scaffold can know that. All we know is that the CLICKOLDING system requirements say we can run it.
