Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is adding Photo Mode, Lumina Sets, and more in their “Thank You” update after winning Game of the Year.
After a successful run at the Game Awards 2025, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 developers Sandfall Interactive revealed a massive "Thank You Update." This update adds photo mode, big QoL optimizations, and more! Check out what's in this major update below.
The biggest addition to this update is the new environment, Verso's Drafts.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 "Thank You" update: Photo Mode, Lumina Sets
This comes as a symbol of gratitude from the developers to their players. During The Game Awards 2025, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 had a record-breaking run, becoming the game with the most nominations and award wins in the event's history.
Apart from the map expansion, the most significant things in this update are the Photo Mode and Lumina Sets.
Photo Mode
To access the new Photo Mode in CO:E33, simply go to the pause menu and choose Photo Mode.
Currently, the Photo Mode doesn't offer any additional effects or filters, but it does give you free rein of the camera.
You can use this to cheese the game a little bit and go around areas to scout for enemies, especially the elusive Mimes.
Lumina Sets
You can now have up to 50 different Lumina loadouts. You'll see a new button on the character loadout screen.
A loadout can be saved as a set. You can also name them so you won't lose track of your builds.
Unfortunately, the saved loadouts do not include Pictos, Skills, or Weapons. You'll still have to manually change these.

There is additional content to experience!
- New costumes for each Expedition member
- New boss battles in the Endless Tower. These are variationis of bosses from the main game.
- New Luminas and Weapons
- "Old Key" is now obtainable in the final area of the game, so collecting all journals is now possible without acquiring this in the beginning of the game.
- Localizations added: Czech, Ukrainian, Latin American Spanish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian.
New Features
- You can now Abandon Battle in the pause menu. You can now open the pause menu mid-battle.
- Added HUD Scale setting
- Added FSR 4 support
- Added new filters for Pictos and Luminas. This menu also has better UI
- Input remapping enabled for controller
