The core strategy is to build on the success of the Witcher series and turn Cyberpunk into a similar franchise. While Cyberpunk 2077 had a difficult start to life it is enjoying a resurgence, as of late, thanks to the recently released Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime and a new patch. CDPR appears convinced that these projects will be their golden geese. Additionally, they'll be releasing an entirely new IP, the details on which are as of yet, unknown.

CDPR Titles currently in development:

  • Polaris - New Witcher Trilogy which follows up on the existing trilogy
  • Sirius - Witcher Game developed by The Molasses Flood, Includes Multiplayer
  • Canis Majoris - Single Player Open-World RPG set in The Witcher Universe, 3rd party developer
  • Phantom Liberty - Upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 Expansion
  • Orion - Planned Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel
  • Hadar - New IP developed internally at CDPR

Big Franchising Ambitions

The Polish developer-turned publisher has revealed big plans to expand their franchises into multiple projects. A partnership with Netflix entails Television and anime media has resulted in successful media projects. These include the Witcher live-action series and the Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime. Additionally, they also provided confirmation of the fact that the next-gen update for The Witcher 3 will release on the PS5 and Xbox Series X later this year.

Furthermore, they're planning on releasing tertiary products like Cyberpunk 2077 TTRPG, Hot Wheels scale models, and mobile games to support their franchise expansion plans.

The CDPR Multiplayer Experience

CDPR's games have never provided multiplayer experiences in the past. Multiplayer is a major aspect of the gaming industry, with many developers investing in a multiplayer experience for most of their single-player titles. By the looks of it, CDPR got this memo as well, as they promise to bring a multiplayer experience to most of their new games.

Finally, the concluding announcement by CDPR on Twitter revealed that Martin Iwiński, Co-Founder and CEO will be leaving his role up for candidacy at the end of 2022 and intends to apply for the role of Chairman of the company.
