BlizzCon 2026 date
BlizzCon 2026 will take place between Sept. 12 and Sept. 13 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. Like its previous iterations, this event will be a celebration of Blizzard's different gaming communities.

In terms of what to expect at BlizzCon 2026, fans across different Blizzard games can look forward to an opening ceremony, panels, the Darkmoon Faire, some hands-on competition and gameplay, and more.

"Over the past nearly 20 years since its inception, BlizzCon has inspired us to innovate, push the boundaries of creativity, and deliver once-in-a-lifetime moments. It’s important that we put on an event worthy of our community."

Heroes of the Storm at BlizzCon 2026?
Ahead of the event dates, Blizzard released an announcement trailer for BlizzCon 2026. Similar to the official announcement, the teaser shared the event’s dates and location. The trailer began with a lightning bolt crashing into ice before a storm brewed above.

This detail didn't go unnoticed, as one YouTube comment with many upvotes jokingly suggested the resurgence of Heroes of the Storm. Whether or not the video intended to hint at or reference the game remains to be seen.

For more context, Heroes of the Storm is a game featuring lots of characters from Blizzard's franchises such as Garrosh, Thrall, Illidan, Sylvanas, Gul'dan, Varian, and Anduin from the World of Warcraft universe and Tracer, D.Va, Hanzo, and Genji from the Overwatch franchise. The game entered maintenance mode back in 2022.

Beyond the Heroes of the Storm speculations, the BlizzCon 2026 trailer also featured lines like "Something is coming," "It begins," and Sylvanas' iconic "For the Horde!"
