World of Warcraft esports revealed its 2023 plans for WoW AWC and MDI. Here are the details and how to sign up.

World of Warcraft's Arena World Championship (WoW AWC) and Mythic Dungeon International (WoW MDI) esports programs will return in 2023! Here are the details.

WoW AWC in 2023

The WoW AWC tournaments in 2023 will feature a new seasonal approach. This will mean seasons of esports action tied to the in-game seasons of Dragonflight. Each season will lead up to Season Grand Finals featuring a $300,000 prize pool.

Each season will also have qualifier cups where the top three teams per region will head to the grand finals. As for the top four to eight, those teams will battle in the new AWC Gauntlet.

What is the AWC Gauntlet?

The AWC Gauntlet will be a tournament that involves a single-elimination bracket. The last-standing team from each region will advance to the Season Grand Finals, according to Blizzard.

Starting Dec. 19, teams from North America and Europe can register via GameBattles for the WoW AWC Season 1 Cups. There will be four open Season 1 Cups per region, and teams will battle for points and the bulk of the $20,000 prize pool per event.

Once the AWC Gauntlet and Season 1 Cup events are done, four teams in each region will duke it out in the WoW AWC Season 1 Grand Finals for a piece of the combined $300,000 prize pool.
