The world in Avowed is immersive and expansive. The game starts players off in the city of Paradis (no, not Attack onTitan). Paradis is a town part of a greater expansion called the "Living Lands."
Those who call this place their home are under the control of the Aedyran Emperor, but speculation revolving around the Emperor has begun to arise.
Dreamscourge, a mysterious plague of the soul, has begun to make its rounds through the city of Paradis. The disease slowly deteriorates one's body until it turns them into a mindless and aggressive monster. So, yes, basically zombies.
While the disease begins to run rampant, villagers are beginning to grow weary of the Aedyran forces and suspicious of their involvement within the town.
The trailer then reveals that the Emporer has sent you into the wild frontier of the Living Lands to search for the source of the Dreamscourge in hopes of finding a cure.
With soul energy playing a prominent force in this game, players will be able to utilize weapons and powers as they travel through an unknown land.
The game is set to release on February 18, 2025 on both Xbox and PC.
