The Aloy Genshin Impact character has now made it into the game as part of patch 2.2! Learn how to claim the free character and how to ascend her.
As part of the Genshin Impact 2.2 update, MiHoYo has released the anticipated Aloy Genshin Impact character. Aloy is the protagonist of the 2017 smash hit RPG game Horizon: Zero Dawn, and will make a return for the sequel Horizon: Forbidden West set for release in February 2022.
Aloy is the first cross-over character to make their way into Genshin Impact but fits right in to the world.
How to claim and unlock your Aloy
The Aloy Genshin Impact character is completely free, and you can claim her simply by checking your Mail - yes, you won't have to burn wishes to unlock her. Once claimed Aloy is playable just like any other character, and can be levelled up and ascended.
What are Aloy's abilities in Genshin Impact?
The Aloy Genshin Impact abilities are in theme with her skills in the Horizon universe.
Easy does it (Passive): Aloy's passive ability allows you to approach certain animals without startling them. So you won't need to waste abilities on a surprise attack on the pigeons on the Mondstadt bridge any more.
Freeze Bomb (Combat Talent): Aloy will throw a Freeze Bomb which explodes on impact dealing CRYO damage. The ability then works in a similar way to Klee's Jumpy Dumpty, with the Freeze Bomb splitting off into smaller "Chillwater Bomblets" which will only explode if any enemy goes near them.
Being hit by the Freeze Bomb or the Chillwater Bomblets will reduce the enemy's ATK damage and slight boost Aloy's damage output of her Normal Attacks. This boost can be increased to 16% through "Combat Override", a passive talent unlocked at Ascension Level 1.
Prophecies of Dawn (Ultimate): Aloy's ultimate sees her throw a Power Cell - an iconic explosive material in Horizon: Zero Dawn - and then detonate it with an arrow. The ultimate will deal CRYO damage in an area, similar to Rosaria's Rites of Termination.
