The Milk Cup 2024: Journey to the finals
This tournament features trios of talented women Fortnite players, including Moxie, Regsita, and dieyuhs. They won Qualifier 1 and are one of the leading teams aiming for the inaugural Milk Cup trophy.
During the interview with esports.gg, Moxie revealed that her competitive spirit from basketball led her to Fortnite. She had always loved gaming as well, having played Call of Duty in the past. Meanwhile, dieyuhs has been playing Call of Duty since she was about 8 before discovering Fortnite.
"I never really thought I had it in me, but I felt like I had potential," Regsita added. "So I asked my dad to get my PC. When I started playing on my phone, he said I did good."
Later, the Fortnite community helped them connect and eventually form a trio. According to Moxie, whenever there was a tournament, everyone instantly knew about it. "So we started talking like, 'Oh, there's going to be a LAN event. It's going to be exciting. And we all sign up,'" she said.

Moxie also shared that the trio didn’t have a coach and managed everything on their own prior to just a few weeks ago. They came from humble beginnings, and only recently began practicing more professionally by reviewing their mistakes via VODs and figuring out ways to improve their gameplay.
"We started having a coach probably two or three weeks ago, but before that, we were just doing [everything] ourselves. Just laughing around [while gaming]. I don't know why we laugh, but it makes us play better," Moxie said. "We practice all day, we play all day for like eight hours."
To Regsita, having the opportunity to compete in The Milk Cup, where others can watch, support, and cheer for them, makes all the long hours of practice all worth it. She recalled her experience at the FNCS Championship, where someone approached her to say her journey inspired them to keep playing Fortnite as well.
"Honestly, I never thought I would have this opportunity. So it means a lot," dieyuhs added. She then shared that at first, her parents didn't understand what Fortnite esports was about, but now that they’re competing in LA for The Milk Cup trophy, their support has grown.
To all of them, getting to meet each other and the community in person is something that they'll remember forever.
"It's like a dream — meeting everyone."
