Moxie, Regsita, and dieyuhs became the first-ever winners of The Milk Cup Finals! Esports.gg chatted with them about their journey to the top.

After battling it out in Fortnite on Oct. 5, XSET players Moxie, Regsita, and dieyuhs became the first-ever champions of The Milk Cup Finals! The crowd at LA Comic Con erupted in cheers as confetti fell and the trio lifted their trophy. Following the celebration, esports.gg caught up with them to talk about their journey to the top!

The Milk Cup Finals: Moxie, Regsita, and dieyuhs take home the gold

During The Milk Cup Finals, Moxie, Regsita, and dieyuhs looked unstoppable. They leveraged the high ground, knew when to play aggressively, and swiftly built walls to block enemy attacks. Whenever the trio found themselves in a crowd as the Storm closed in, the audience roared as they eliminated foe after foe. Moxie, for instance, didn’t hesitate when faced with several teams after Regsita and dieyuhs fell, prompting her supporters in the crowd to shout even louder.

In their post-match interview with esports.gg, the trio talked about their journey to the top. They recalled how they got chased by a full team during one game. However, this simply motivated them to refocus and lock in.

"There was a team full-chasing us, griefing us, and we died top 11 with probably 10 kills," Moxie said. "Vader's team got first place, and we came second that game. So we were a little bit like, 'What's going on?' but I think that motivated us to get better. We were more focused. We're like, 'Okay, it's time. It's time to lock in and win.'"

Even after Moxie, Regsita, and dieyuhs had already secured their win and earned their third victory royale, they still gave it their all in Game 6, proving that in a tournament, it’s not about how you start — it’s about how you finish.

"I couldn't even hear the crowd, to be honest. I was using double headsets, so I couldn't even hear them. I was like, 'Okay, we already won. I can do whatever I want,'" Moxie said.

The player then credited the team's close friendship as the reason for their ability to stay on top of their game throughout the day. For example, despite the three-hour delay in The Milk Cup Finals caused by server issues, their laughter helped them maintain high energy.

"We're best friends," Moxie said. "I think that really helps us because we're laughing [during] games [and] that make us wake up, probably. I really appreciate my teammates."

The Milk Cup Finals event has concluded, however, Fortnite fans can now look forward to the newly-announced Milk Cup Winter Split.
