Esports.gg interviewed CeceNuggets, FemaleClix, and Kanary, the champions of The Milk Cup Qualifier 3, ahead of The Milk Cup Finals!

The Milk Cup Finals will soon kick off at LA Comic Con, where Fortnite teams will battle for the bulk of the $250,000 prize pool. Ahead of the event, esports.gg interviewed CeceNuggets, FemaleClix, and Kanary, the champions of The Milk Cup Qualifier 3, to talk about their journey leading up to the competition!

"It's very empowering for women to be able to see and have their own platform."

FemaleClix

How CeceNuggets, FemaleClix, and Kanary formed a team

The team came together after FemaleClix saw Kanary's stats in Fortnite. Impressed, FemaleClix contacted Kanary and formed a new trio alongside CeceNuggets. After playing together, the new trio clicked and became close.

"I reached out to her. I saw her stats, she sent [them] to me, and she was like, 'You need a third?'" FemaleClix recalled, adding that they amicably parted ways with their former third. "I immediately reached out to her. 'So you have to play with us. We're the best team.' So she played with us."

Team dynamics and strengths

According to the trio, each player brings a unique dynamic to the team as well. For example, Kanary is good at maintaining a professional and no-nonsense attitude to help everyone focus on the game. Meanwhile, CeceNuggets balances that with a more lighthearted approach, reminding the team that it's okay to have fun and not take everything too seriously. As for FemaleClix, she adds intensity and emotion to the team by being a strong vocal presence during matches. However, when needed, her teammates help ground her.

"I want to say she is like the 'not emotional' type," FemaleClix explained, referring to Kanary. "Let's be honest. Girls are emotional. We're extra emotional, more emotional than most people. So she brings [in] the business side. Like, 'You don't need to be mean, you don't need to say things to other girls. You don't need to talk to other girls. You just need to be on your game.'"

The Milk Cup Finals meta

Kanary then wasted no time sharing her thoughts on the Fortnite meta going into The Milk Cup Finals. She explained how the recent updates created a more even playing field. Additionally, now that everyone has the same ping and can play alongside their teammates in person at The Milk Cup Finals, it means every team has a good chance of taking first place.

"The biggest change is definitely movement, but I feel like it's actually good because it's fair for everybody," Kanary said. "We don't find movement, they don't find movement."

CeceNuggets chimed in as well. "I mean, some other people had movement, and it just made it so unfair and unskillful. So now there's no movement in the game besides the Fizz, which isn't considered movement, but you can use it as a movement. I just think it's so much fairer."

To the trio, winning The Milk Cup Finals would validate their strength as a team, proving they’re the best and should stay together for future competitions. They all hope that there will be Milk Cup 2 down the line, too.

"The next time around, if there's a Milk Cup 2, we should stick together," FemaleClix said.
