Tetris has officially made a map in Fortnite.

Are you a fan of Tetris and Fortnite? The classic game will be releasing its very own Fortnite map, hosting a $10,000 tournament on it. The map and event will help celebrate Tetris's upcoming 40th birthday, making it a history event within Fortnite.

Tetris integration coming to Fortnite Creative

Fortnite just gained another big game in the world of Creative. A Tetris-branded integration is officially coming to the game, launched by playSTUDIOS Inc.

The integration reimagines the popular Creative map, Color Climb!, which was developed by Dylan “Dilly” Johnson. Johnson is also the CEO of Good Gamers, the popular Fortnite Creative developing team.

“Partnering with a game as influential as Tetris was a no-brainer,” said Dylan “Dilly” Johnson. “While casual gamers and Fortnite players are traditionally made up of very different audiences who play on different platforms, we’re starting to see these two worlds intersect more often. Color Climb! and Tetris both thrive on simple, skill-expressive, and intuitive gameplay, and we hope fans of both will enjoy what we’ve created.”

Four different tournaments are set to be hosted on the upcoming map, which was built by Cherry Pick Gaming. Players will have to compete on a parkour platformer island, where they have to race to climb blocks without falling.

The blocks players will be climbing will look like the traditional Tetris blocks from the believed game.

Hosted by ThePeachCobbler on Twitch, the four tournaments will take place on September 17, 25, 28 and October 2, 2024. Each event will feature eight players competing against one another. The players with the fastest times will receive a portion of the $10,000 prize pool.

playSTUDIOS expresses its excitement for the Fortnite x Tetris integration

It is not every day you see a game as popular and historical as Tetris team up with a title such as Fortnite. This new integration should potentially bring quite a few Tetris gamers to the Battle Royale, allowing them to discover the world of Fortnite Creative.

“Tetris is one of the most iconic and beloved gaming titles of all time. And the fact that it’s as popular today as it was 40 years ago is a true testament to the elegance of its design and The Tetris Company’s ability to keep their brand fresh and relevant in the everchanging entertainment landscape,” said Andrew Pascal, Founder and CEO of playSTUDIOS.

The map is officially live today and will continue to be available in the Fortnite Creative hub for players to explore until October 4.
