An alleged Fortnite x Tate McRae image is making its rounds on social media, but is it real? Unfortunately, all signs point to no.
Rumors within the Fortnite scene have indicated pop star Tate McRae is in line for a collaboration in February 2026. However, despite the images that have circulated, no relevant sources have confirmed this news. While that doesn't mean it won't happen eventually, nothing has come to light yet.
That may be unfortunate news for Tate McRae fans, and this article outlines everything you need to know about this situation.
Alleged AI art links Tate McRae to a Fortnite Icon Series collab
A Tate McRae fan account on X seems to be the origin for the rumors surrounding the artist's Fortnite partnership. The post, in Portuguese, states that the collaboration will begin in February 2026. Unfortunately, neither Epic Games nor any of the scene's many leakers has verified this information.
Since it was published on Dec. 31, 2025, the post has received over 600K views and found its way onto other social media platforms. Despite the image allegedly being AI-generated, many fans have taken it at face value. It's understandable for people to believe the image was legitimate, considering the number of names that joined the Icon Series in 2025,
Could this collaboration actually happen?
The interesting part is that Tate McRae has already worked with Fortnite twice. Epic Games released the "Independence" Emote in August 2024, set to Tate McRae's song "exes." The two entities then followed that up with the "It's ok I'm ok" one year later in August 2025, set to her song of the same name.
We've seen a similar trend with numerous artists who eventually became Icon Series members. Those include Doja Cat, The Weeknd, and Sabrina Carpenter. With two Emotes already in the game, a more elaborate Fortnite x Tate McRae collaboration is undoubtedly on the table.
Although the image making the rounds is not real, 2026 has just begun, and we expect to see many Icon Series additions over the next 12 months.
