Star Wars Celebration 2025 Fortnite recap: Darth Jar Jar Binks, live narrative event, and more

The 2025 Star Wars Celebration event just revealed much of what we can expect when Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 arrives in just a few weeks. Next season will feature an all-Star Wars theme, including in-game items, a Battle Pass, and even DARTH JAR JAR.

There is much to recap in the fallout of Fortnite’s massive announcement during day three of the Star Wars Celebration. Here is everything we learned and what you need to know!

After a much later start than expected, the 2025 Star Wars Celebration event streamed a 30-second trailer for Fortnite's Chapter 6 Season 3. While many had an idea of what to expect, no one anticipated Darth Jar Jar. 

Yes, the Star Wars meme that many fans manifested over the years for one of the most despised characters is coming to Fortnite. The trailer showcased skins themed to Darth Jar Jar, Mace Windu, and Emperor Palpatine.

It's unclear which characters will be available via the Item Shop and the Chapter 6 Season 3 Battle Pass. The official Fortnite x Star Wars key art revealed that skins based on Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma are also in the pipeline.

The Star Wars Celebration stream provided a sneak peek at a few other notable in-game costumes, including a Jedi and Sith Evie variant, and a Wookie Cuddle Team Leader. 

It’s unclear whether these will be part of the Battle Pass or appear in the Item Shop. Either way, these are a fun twist on existing Fortnite skins that Star Wars fans may enjoy. 

Following the Star Wars Celebration Fortnite segment, the game’s social media account confirmed that Chapter 6 Season 3 will receive weekly updates. Based on the screenshot above from the trailer, five episodic patches are expected to occur during the shortened season. 

Fortnite rounded out its post, stating that there will be a “live end of season narrative event.” The wording is somewhat confusing, since it doesn’t clarify whether this event will conclude Season 2 or Season 3. 

Either way, the idea of a Star Wars live event in Fortnite is an exciting concept. If it’s anything like the few Marvel-themed events, Fortnite will deliver. 

Nothing from Star Wars Celebration drew more attention than Fortnite adding Darth Jar Jar. Fans had a mixed response to the idea, with some praising it and others not convinced it’s a good option.

Players also loved the addition of a narrative event, especially with Star Wars as the backdrop. Another takeaway is the consistent inquiries about lightsaber pickaxes, which may or may not come to pass.
