A Sonic x Fortnite collaboration has leaked and will reportedly feature skins based on the beloves SEGA franchise.

The year is off to an incredible start for Fortnite, especially in terms of collaborations. However, things just heated up significantly following a leak that a Sonic the Hedgehog x Fortnite crossover is in the works. This report originated from a new yet reputable source within the scene, who also confirmed that this collab would feature actual Fortnite skins. Here's everything we know so far.

Is Sonic the Hedgehog actually coming to Fortnite?

AdiraFNInfo is once again the leaker leading the charge on reports of a Sonic x Fortnite crossover. This same individual has accurately leaked collabs with Regular Show, Adventure Time Wave 2, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, and even Minecraft. Although only two have come to fruition thus far, it's an impressive track record.

As the post above by AdiraFNInfo indicates, a "full collab" is in development, which will include skins rather than in-game Sidekicks. That more than likely means Epic Games plans to release a Sonic the Hedgehog Fortnite skin, amongst potentially other characters.

Unfortunately, there are no dates associated with the information. That means it could launch this year, or fans may have to wait a little longer. However, since this year marks the 35th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog, 2026 is a possibility.

But didn't this collaboration already happen?

It is worth noting that Sonic x Fortnite already happened in an unconventional manner. Last September, Epic Games released a PUMA collaboration featuring Sonic the Hedgehog-themed shoes that players could apply to their chosen skins.

Whether that was a mere test of how this partnership would go over is unclear. It very well may have been part of an ongoing agreement between Epic Games and PUMA, but choosing the Sonic sneakers specifically is a curious decision.

Ultimately, as with most anything related to Fortnite leaks, we'll have to wait and see how this unfolds over the coming months.
