Rocket Racing set to bring the joy of Rocket League to Fortnite

More information will be revealed during the Game Awards on Thursday.

Epic Games announced multiple game modes after the Big Bang event on December 2. One of these modes is the Rocket Racing which will bring the joy of Rocket League to Fortnite. Here is all we know about Fortnite Rocket Racing.

Rocket Racing in Fortnite

Epic Games announced Rocket Racing but they have not divulged too many details about the new game mode.

Rocket Racing is a supersonic arcade racer where players drift, fly, and boost with friends through an ever-growing selection of tracks.

It is important to note the ‘ever-growing selection of tracks’ in the statement above. It suggests Epic Games might begin to fully integrate the Racing game mode as a near-permanent game mode in Fortnite.

As the name might have already hinted, Rocket Racing will be similar to Rocket League in Fortnite. However, there might be minor alterations depending on the Unreal Engine 5.

Epic Games also announced that the game mode is developed by Psyonix, the team behind Rocket League.

When does it go live?

Rocket Racing will go live on December 8, 2023. While the exact launch time is not available, we can estimate the launch time based on other Epic Games launch timings.

Rocket Racing Launch

Geoff Keighley, the host of The Games Awards also revealed that the Rocket Racing trailer will release on December 7, 2023.

Viewers can catch the Premiere of the Rocket Racing Reveal trailer live on Twitch. The game mode will go live one day after the Trailer release. We still don't know what the Rocket Racing in Fortnite means for the game, but it definitely has fans of both Fortnite and Rocket League excited for the launch.

In May 2019, Epic Games bought Psyonix and soon after made the game available on the Epic Games Store. The game is available there for free. However, players who purchased the game on Steam before the Epic Games acquisition can continue to enjoy the game on Valve’s distribution platform.
