New physics are coming to Fortnite, and it may be sooner than you realize. Here is everything you need to know.

In recent news, leakers have confirmed that Fortnite will be adding a new physics update this summer, and it is absolutely insane. We already know the game is notorious for giving us new features with its physics all the time, but this new update will change the entire way the game is played.

Here is everything we know about the new physics coming to Fortnite.

New physics are coming to Fortnite, and it's sooner than you think

The game had confirmed that new physics were in the works quite some time ago. These, almost ragdoll-like, physics will completely change the way the game is played. We will see objects flail around. Broken walls will actually crumble. There are endless possibilities with it.

And, it looks as if the new physics will be coming to the game sometime between July 2025 and September 2025.

How do we know this if Fortnite has not said so themselves? Well, the leaker, Hypex, who is known for being an incredibly reputable leaker and works hand-in-hand with Epic Games, confirmed it early today (April 24, 2025) on Twitter.

The leaker posted a Tweet saying the time frame we will see the new physics added to Fortnite and called it confirmed. They also tweeted a video showcasing what some of the physics will look like, and it is insane.

Will the new physics be on every platform?

Yes, the new physics will be on every platform and console. Fortnite would never completely change the physics of the game, and only allow PC users to indulge in them. That would also be too complicated. However, for old-gen players, the game might not run as well with these new physics.

Looks like it's time to upgrade, am I right?

Change in physics throughout the years

Fortnite has constantly been changing its physics, especially with movement, throughout the years. At first, players could not even swim and the water did not flow. Then, in Chapter 2, the game introduced running rivers and the swimming mechanic.

Eventually, Fortnite added sprinting and mantling, which changed build battles forever. We then saw the addition of climbing, rolling after jumping and more.

Fortnite continuously updates the game with new physics, making this upcoming update no surprise. However, this will easily be the game's biggest physics update ever. Are you excited?
