Kizuna AI Fortnite collab to welcome the game’s first VTuber

It's challenging for Fortnite to find a "first," given how much the game has accomplished since 2017. However, a recently leaked collaboration with Kizuna AI will be entirely unique–the first VTuber to enter the realm of Fortnite. While the details are somewhat unclear, multiple leakers have confirmed that this crossover will happen soon.

Kizuna AI, an online virtual character, will break another barrier as the first VTuber to become playable in Fortnite. Epic Games has yet to reveal this crossover, but various leakers, including HYPEX, have located Kizuna AI in the game files.

It's unclear what this collab will entail, but at the very least, it's safe to assume there will be a Kizuna AI Fortnite skin and other cosmetic items, perhaps even within the Icon Series collection. Leakers have also confirmed that this character will arrive "this update," meaning it could drop anytime between now and Jan. 22, which is the next update.

Some may not be familiar with the virtual YouTuber concept, but it has become increasingly popular in recent years with varying levels of success. Some creators who would prefer to remain faceless have created VTuber characters to associate with their content.

Many refer to Kizuna AI as the pioneer of VTubers. She debuted in 2016 and quickly rose to the top of the YouTube charts, becoming the most-subscribed VTuber, with over 4 million subscribers across three channels.

Kizuna AI went on a virtual tour in 2022 before taking an indefinite hiatus. That hiatus lasted three years before her eventual return in February 2025. Now, Kizuna AI will become a playable Fortnite character within the next few weeks. We expect to learn more in the coming days.
