King Kong is reportedly joining the world of Fortnite this week.

This is Kong's world and we are just mere ants living in it. Okay, maybe not. This is actually just Fortnite: Battle Royale. Reputable leakers have posted on X that the fictional character, King Kong, will be making his official appearance in Fortnite this week.

Here is everything we know and what we are all hoping for.

King Kong to finally join Fortnite

Since November of 2024, leakers have been speculating that King Kong will officially be joining Fortnite. However, many are not sure how or when. Will the fearsome ape be a playable skin? Or will he just be somewhere on the island?

Well, with Godzilla set to release in the Item Shop on January 17, 2025, it would only make sense that King Kong will also be getting a skin in Fortnite.

The two characters are famous for taking each other on in the popular Godzilla vs. Kong movie, making them a great pair-up to join the Item Shop.

So, does this mean that King Kong will join the Item Shop on January 17, the same time Godzilla is released? More than likely, yes.

Who will you play as? King Kong or Godzilla?

History of King Kong

King Kong has been a famous fictional character for close to a century now. The first King Kong movie first released back in 1933 and was incredibly ahead of its time. The story was essentially a love story, as the infamous ape sacrificed itself for the woman it loved.

With multiple remakes, King Kong has stayed incredibly fresh in pop culture and is now friends with the Kaiju, Godzilla.

The two first clashed back in 2021 when Godzilla vs. Kong hit theaters, but since then have become quite good friends, as they fought together in the most recent movie, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (they are never going to stop making these movies, unfortunately).

And now, the two will join together once again in Fortnite.
