See what unfolded in this clash of two Fortnite Icon Series members!

It's not every day two of the most prominent streamers on Twitch go head-to-head in a Fortnite 1v1 with $25K on the line. This very situation played out on Sept. 10, following the reveal of the ultra-popular Kai Cenat's Fortnite cosmetics. To celebrate the occasion, he squared off against fellow Icon Series member Cody 'Clix' Conrod in a 1v1 for 6,500 gifted subscriptions.

The caveat in this battle was that Clix graciously provided Kai Cenat a 99 kill lead in a race to 100 kills. That meant Clix needed to eliminate Kai Cenat 100 times before Kai eliminated him once. Unfortunately for Kai, the match played out about as you'd expect.

What happened in the Kai Cenat vs. Clix Fortnite 1v1?

When a seasoned professional Fortnite player met a casual Fortnite player, you couldn't expect anything other than what unfolded. The most entertaining aspect about the 1v1 might have been the trash talk, where the two roasted each other's Icon Series skins.

Kai Cenat took the dialogue to another level, criticizing Clix's lack of Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) wins and even commenting on his recent 18th-place finish at the Fortnite Global Championship. However, when all was said and done, Clix obliterated Kai Cenat in the 1v1.

The closest moment of the match occurred when the score was 99-6. Kai Cenat delivered a shot that reduced Clix's HP from 200 to 60. Ultimately, it was a romp in favor of Clix, who defeated Kai amid his Mafiathon 3 stream and put a damper on his Fortnite Outfit reveal.

Kai Cenat lamented the loss, saying, "I can't believe I just lost $25,000." A fair sentiment, considering the lead, but not too tragic, considering he has just surpassed 370,000 Twitch subscribers. It was a successful stream, all things considered, and a unique way to promote the latest addition to the Icon Series.

Interestingly, this was actually a rematch three years in the making, as the two had previously squared off in 2022.

When does the Kai skin launch?

Despite the monumental loss, having a playable character in Fortnite is the ultimate win. Clix already has one, and Kai Cenat's launches on Friday, Sept. 12, when the Item Shop resets. The creator provided fans a look at everything included, such as the alternate styles and more.

While the effect of this loss may last a while, Kai Cenat's $25K loss should recoup once his Fortnite collaboration launches.
