Cut Amber is a vital material as you progress in LEGO Fortnite, but how do you get it? We’ve got a guide to answer all your questions!
As you progress in LEGO Fortnite, you’ll find yourself needing Cut Amber, a higher-level material that it isn’t immediately easy to find. You’ll need Cut Amber for levelling up your Village, expanding your Village with workbenches and buildings, and generally to progress the game. Here’s how to get Cut Amber in LEGO Fortnite
How to get Cut Amber in LEGO Fortnite
Step 1: Find Rough Amber
Your first step is to find some Rough Amber, as this is the base ingredient for Cut Amber in LEGO Fortnite
How to find Rough Amber
You’ll find Rough Amber atop mesas. (the large rock formations) in Deserts, otherwise known as Dry Valleys. You’ll also occasionally find Rough Amber in Treasure Chests in Dry Valleys, but it’s a lot easier to find it atop the many mesas. You’ll need a Uncommon Pickaxe to gather Rough Amber
To gather it, you’ll have to scale to the high points of the mesas. You can use Geysers to do this, but sometimes it’s better to build something. After all this is Fortnite! Build walls, steps, and floors to make your way to the top of the mesas and gather that precious Amber!

Step 2: Build a Gem Cutter
Your next step is to build a Gem Cutter. This is an advanced workbench that requires the following materials to build:
- 20 Marble Slabs
- 5 Rough Amber
- 11 Sand Claws
- 3 Sand Shells
We’ve detailed how to obtain Rough Amber above, and also have a handy article on Marble Slab as well.
To obtain Sand Claws, you’ll need to slay Sand Wolves (Wolves found in the Dry Valleys) and Sand Rollers (Rollers in the Dry Valley). You can also find these items in Treasure Chests in the Dry Valley. If you’re taking on these foes, remember to carry weapons of at least Uncommon rarity, and upgrade your health.
